International Consultant – Data Visualization & Motion Design

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Djibouti is seeking an International Consultant to create and deliver visual content that translates complex migration data and project results into clear, engaging formats. The role supports two EU‑funded migration governance projects and will serve diverse audiences, from the general public and youth to policymakers and media.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce data visualisations, infographics, graphic assets and motion‑design pieces that reflect IOM’s migration data and project outcomes.
• Adapt visual materials for multiple communication channels, including digital platforms, institutional reports and outreach products.
• Collaborate closely with the Media and Communications Officer, project teams, the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) team and, when needed, the IOM Regional Office in Nairobi.
• Ensure all outputs follow IOM brand guidelines, partner visibility requirements and audience‑specific needs.
• Incorporate provided data, texts, key messages and photographs into the visual designs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data visualisation, graphic design and motion design, preferably in an international or development context.
• Ability to translate technical data into accessible visual narratives for varied audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills and capacity to work under the supervision of the Media and Communications Officer.
• Familiarity with migration‑related themes is an advantage.
