HVAC Mechanic – Djibouti Base

About the role

Under direct supervision, you will install, service, and repair climate‑control, refrigeration, and ventilation systems for KBR’s operations at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role ensures optimal energy efficiency, air quality, and temperature regulation for mission‑critical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Foreman or General Foreman and follow assigned work plans.
• Perform testing and calibration: measure refrigerant levels, airflow, and pressure using diagnostic tools.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and hours worked.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition and perform housekeeping tasks.
• Observe all safety rules, wear required PPE, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
• Respond to emergency after‑hours calls and on‑call schedules.

Required profile

• 2‑5+ years experience as an HVAC mechanic.
• Experience with large commercial air‑conditioning plants, chillers, washers, or dryers.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certification preferred.
• EPA certification or equivalent.
• Fluent English, valid passport (12 months) with blank pages, and a driver’s license (6 months).

• Use of diagnostic tools for refrigerant, airflow, and pressure measurement.
• Reading complex schematics.
