Logistics Specialist (Djibouti)

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to coordinate the movement of goods and equipment for our operations in Djibouti. The role involves managing both local and international shipments, ensuring timely delivery, and supporting procurement and operational teams with logistics planning.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate local and international transportation of goods and equipment.
• Monitor shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Manage inventory levels and warehouse operations.
• Prepare shipping and customs documentation.
• Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and suppliers.
• Track logistics costs and prepare related reports.
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate fleet movement and vehicle utilization where required.
• Maintain accurate logistics and inventory records.
• Resolve transportation and delivery issues promptly.
• Support procurement and operational teams with logistics planning.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
• Monitor supplier and transporter performance.
• Implement cost‑saving and efficiency improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management is an advantage.
• 2–5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
• Experience in multinational environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of customs clearance and import/export procedures.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in English.
