Senior Maintenance Mechanic – Emergency Vehicles & Equipment

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic (EVT) to support maintenance operations at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles and emergency equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation for deployed personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on forklifts, loaders, trucks, fire apparatuses, ambulances and other heavy machinery.
• Manage inventory of special bench‑stock items dedicated to fire and emergency vehicle repair.
• Assess and support preventive‑maintenance (PM) and corrective‑maintenance (CM) programs in accordance with OPNAVINST 11320.23G, NFPA standards and manufacturer recommendations.
• Deliver critical parts to designated sites, submit and track requisitions for fire‑assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Participate as a member of the Mobile Maintenance Contact Team, providing on‑site troubleshooting, repair assistance and training to local maintenance crews.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and briefs for the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) management.

Required profile

• Current certification to repair fire apparatuses and ambulances from an approved training facility.
• Minimum five years of experience as a mechanic working on heavy equipment and emergency vehicles.
• Strong mechanical background with the ability to read technical manuals and standards.
• Experience operating in expeditionary or military support environments.
