Communications Officer

About the role

The Communications Officer will implement the World Food Programme Djibouti’s communications work plan, enhancing visibility, reputation, advocacy and fundraising. The role supports both routine and emergency communication activities across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, edit and disseminate communication materials for media, donors, partners and external audiences.
• Maintain relationships with journalists, manage social media content creation, publishing, audience engagement and performance monitoring.
• Produce donor visibility materials, multimedia content, success stories, photographs, videos and audio aligned with WFP branding.
• Monitor and analyse traditional and social media coverage, compile data and contribute to communication reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams, donors, media representatives and external partners to ensure consistent messaging.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, International Relations or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in communications, media relations, public information or advocacy.
• Proven experience designing and implementing communication plans and campaigns.
• Professional working proficiency in English and French.
