About the role
KBR supports the operational well‑being of U.S. armed forces at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The Fire Suppression Technician is responsible for servicing, repairing and replacing fire alarm products, inspecting fire alarm systems, and installing connections to MONACO fire alarm receiving equipment while adhering to NFPA standards and NICET III certification requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Service, inspect and test fire alarm and related systems to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform on‑site emergency troubleshooting, programming and repairs of fire alarm systems.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics and drawings of fire alarm and related electrical systems.
- Diagnose failures, evaluate condition of components and carry out preventative maintenance.
- Install fire alarm system components such as panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations and detectors.
Required profile
- 2–3 years experience in fire protection life‑safety, including fire alarm installation and programming.
- NICET Level III certification in fire alarm systems.
- Ability to obtain or already hold a Secret security clearance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of low‑voltage wiring, NFPA fire alarm code and reading of design plans.
- Comfort working at heights above 50 ft and carrying required keys, radio and telephone on base.
- Strong computer and communication skills.
Required skills
- Experience with Simplex 4100E, FIRELITE, Monaco BTX, Gamewell E3, Honeywell, Det‑tronics, Secutron and Auto Pulse fire alarm panels.
- Fire alarm system troubleshooting and programming.
- Low‑voltage wiring installation and maintenance.
- Interpretation of NFPA standards and fire alarm code.
- Reading and applying schematics, blueprints and construction drawings.
