Materials Specialist – Ordnance (Djibouti)

About the role

KBR is seeking a Materials Specialist – Ordnance to support operations at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role ensures effective production control, inventory management, and shipping/receiving of ordnance materials, enabling deployed personnel to focus on mission execution.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect parts and materials for damage, verify quantity, part numbers, and serial numbers of shipped items.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare status reports on requested and received items.
• Administer production control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving processes under general supervision.
• Analyze potential solutions using standard procedures and develop advanced problem‑solving skills.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• 3‑5 years of experience in ordnance, ammunition, or munitions roles within Navy, Marine, Army, or Air Force environments.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work in high‑pressure, interruption‑prone settings.
• Strong customer relations, communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• OPNAV/NAVSEA certification
• Explosive handling license (or ability to obtain one)
