Topographic Surveyor

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Topographic Surveyor to conduct accurate land and terrain surveys for construction and infrastructure projects at the Djibouti Africa camp and Lemonier Naval Base.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed topographic surveys of construction sites, establishing control points, benchmarks and coordinate systems.
• Collect and record measurements of elevations, boundaries, utilities, roads and drainage features using Total Stations, GNSS/GPS receivers and digital levels.
• Process, analyze and validate field data, producing drawings, contour maps, DTMs/DEMs and survey reports.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of practical topographic surveying experience.
• Professional surveying certification or relevant credentials.
• Ability to work independently in an extreme, high‑pressure environment.

Required skills

• Use of Total Stations, GNSS/GPS receivers and digital/automatic levels.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other survey data‑processing software.
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, coordinate systems, benchmarks and contouring.
