Warehouse Specialist (Contingency Hire)

About the role

The Warehouse Specialist supports the Distribution Center’s mission to execute efficient logistics operations for DLA wholesale and Army SSA retail activities. This hands‑on position focuses on receiving, storing, inventory control, and preparing contingency materials for shipment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify incoming materials against receiving documents and report any discrepancies or damages.
• Route, store, stack, palletize, and rearrange materials according to the storage plan.
• Conduct regular inventory checks, examine stored items for deterioration, and remove items for shipment.
• Operate hand or powered trucks and use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to process transactions.

Required profile

• Understanding of warehouse storage plans and logistics operations.
• Experience using WMS or equivalent inventory systems (minimum three years within the last five).
• Ability to operate manual and powered material‑handling equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently following established procedures.
