Warehouse Specialist Supervisor (Contingency Hire)

About the role

The Warehouse Specialist Supervisor supports the Distribution Center’s mission to manage and execute efficient logistics operations for DLA wholesale and Army SSA retail activities. This position oversees either J.1 WMS or J.2 SSA processes, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and smooth material flow.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise storage and distribution operations for J.1 WMS or J.2 SSA activities, directing staff handling receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, and distributing materials.
• Plan and allocate resources—including personnel, equipment, and materials—based on workload projections and adjust staffing to meet unexpected changes.
• Utilize automated and manual material handling systems, operate the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other government data systems to fulfill performance work statement (PWS) requirements.
• Conduct safety and occupational health inspections, enforce safety programs, and ensure all work complies with contract terms.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of recent experience in distribution and warehousing using DLA’s WMS or an equivalent automated WMS.
• Experience with Army SSA logistics operations.
• Proven ability to supervise and manage logistics operations effectively.
• Familiarity with government logistics systems and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Warehouse Management System (WMS) platforms.
• Use of automated material handling equipment.
