Water Systems Chemist

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Water Systems Chemist to support a U.S. Navy program on the remote island of Diego Garcia. The role involves ensuring water quality and compliance with Navy standards in a mission‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sampling, testing, and chemical analysis of potable, wastewater, and industrial water systems.
• Record and evaluate results, adjust treatment processes, and maintain documentation of analytical data.
• Support inspections, audits, and troubleshoot water quality issues in coordination with utility personnel.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in water treatment, water quality testing, chemistry, or environmental laboratory operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary security clearances.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of water chemistry and sampling methods.
• Proficiency with standard laboratory instruments and testing protocols.
• Experience with recordkeeping, data entry, and report preparation.
