Network Architect – CCIE (OCONUS)

About the role

GovCIO is seeking a senior Network Architect with a CCIE certification to support Special Operations communications. The position is located overseas and requires onsite presence.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyze technical capabilities of company and competitor products, generating quantifiable requirements and ensuring compliance through formal verification.
• Design, develop, and implement diverse Wide Area Networking environments, including QoS for voice/video/data, DMVPN, FLEXVPN, MPLS, and multicast architectures.
• Produce conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures with detailed documentation, testing plans, and risk assessments.
• Provide operational support for WAN and LAN technologies, plan network layouts, and analyze topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements.
• Collaborate with DoD customers to fill information gaps, communicate architecture solutions, and support hardware/software acquisition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, U.S. passport, and driver’s license.
• Medical and physical fitness for deployment OCONUS under USCENTCOM standards.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including ballistic helmet and body armor.

Required skills

• CCIE (Routing and Switching) certification.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Extensive Cisco routing and switching experience (OSPF, EIGRP, MP‑BGP, QoS, DMVPN, FLEXVPN).
• Expertise in WAN/LAN, MPLS, MPLS Traffic Engineering, Zone‑Based Firewalls, 802.1X, and Identity Services Engine (ISE).
• Strong knowledge of IPv4, multicast, L2VPN/L3VPN, and network performance management tools.
