Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our team in Djibouti. The role involves managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting documents.
• Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Process payroll and staff reimbursements.
• Monitor company budgets and expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with Djibouti tax laws and financial regulations, including timely tax returns and statutory deductions.
• Support external and internal audits.
• Maintain proper filing of financial documents and contracts.
• Coordinate with procurement and HR on financial matters.
• Assist management in financial planning and budgeting.
• Monitor inventory and asset records where required.
• Identify financial risks and recommend corrective measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or Level II and above is an advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the heavy machinery industry.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and taxation.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ability to work under pressure.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
