Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist designs and operates pipelines that turn unstructured text and multimedia into structured, actionable data. Working remotely, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality extraction solutions for diverse domains such as legal, medical, finance, and news.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end‑to‑end information extraction pipelines for various document types.
• Create and manage high‑quality training datasets, including annotation schema definition and quality assurance.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, F1 and iterate on guidelines, data, or architecture to improve results.
• Assess and integrate open‑source and commercial extraction tools and platforms.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline extraction processes.
• Adapt extraction systems to new domains quickly by acquiring domain knowledge and updating guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, or computational linguistics.
• Strong problem‑solving ability to analyze model errors and propose data‑driven improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the capacity to document complex guidelines clearly.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Experience with NLP libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, and Stanford CoreNLP.
