Communication Associate

About the role

The Communication Associate will support UNDP Djibouti’s Country Office Communications Unit in adapting the global UNDP communication strategy to the local context. The role focuses on producing high‑quality communication materials and leveraging targeted channels to raise the visibility of UNDP programmes and promote the Sustainable Development Goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate communication products (factsheets, stories, videos, social media posts) that showcase programme results.
• Assist in planning and implementing communication campaigns aligned with the country’s development priorities.
• Maintain and update internal and external communication platforms, ensuring consistency of messaging.
• Collaborate with programme teams, partners and media to gather content and secure coverage.
• Monitor media coverage and produce regular reports on communication impact.

Required profile

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
• Relevant experience in development communication or international development contexts.
• Strong writing and editing skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
