Food Service Worker – KBR Camp Lemonnier

About the role

KBR is seeking a Food Service Worker to support kitchen and dining operations at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role involves preparing dining areas, handling food service equipment, and ensuring strict food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food items, including salads, fruits, vegetables, breakfast items, short‑order foods, and beverages, following approved recipes.
• Set up serving lines, self‑service areas, and garnish menu items for daily service and special events.
• Maintain food safety by monitoring temperatures, labeling products, and recording temperature logs.
• Perform housekeeping duties such as washing pots, pans, utensils, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing service areas.
• Inspect and operate food service equipment safely, reporting any maintenance needs.
• Participate in safety meetings, follow KBR policies, and adhere to uniform and PPE requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma with 1‑3 years of food service or institutional kitchen experience.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and temperature‑control procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lb and maintain fitness for duty.
• Fluent English and possession of a valid passport.
