International Consultant – Data Visualization, Graphic & Motion Design

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Djibouti seeks a consultant to transform migration data, results and project achievements into clear, engaging visual formats. The role focuses on creating data visualizations, infographics, graphic materials and motion‑design content for a variety of audiences and communication channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce data visualizations, infographics, and animated content that illustrate IOM’s migration‑related data and outcomes.
• Adapt visual assets for digital platforms, institutional publications, and other communication channels.
• Collaborate closely with the Media and Communications Officer, project teams, and the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) team to ensure consistency with IOM guidelines and partner visibility requirements.
• Tailor visual materials to target audiences, including the general public, youth (18‑35), policymakers, civil‑society actors, journalists and influencers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data visualization, graphic design and motion design, preferably within an international or development context.
• Ability to work under supervision, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of how to present complex data in an accessible and compelling manner.
