Junior Help Desk & Network Systems Administrator (OCONUS)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Help Desk and Network Systems Administrator to provide Tier I/II support for hardware, software, and network issues in Djibouti. The role involves direct interaction with end‑users, troubleshooting diverse IT problems, and maintaining secure network environments.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve technical problems and answer queries via telephone or email for hardware, software, network, and telecommunications systems.
• Diagnose, isolate, and analyze issues using prescribed guidelines and solutions.
• Maintain and update records in tracking databases, alerting management to recurring problems.
• Communicate step‑by‑step solutions to end‑users and coordinate with specialists when needed.
• Administer computer networks, including hardware, system software, application software, and configurations.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network and system security measures to protect data and assets.
• Monitor system performance, write or modify basic scripts, and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• High school diploma with 3‑9 years of relevant IT support experience (depending on certification).
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Current and active U.S. passport and driver’s license.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and meet OCONUS medical fitness standards.

Required skills

• CompTIA Security+ certification (or higher).
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (preferred).
• Experience using ticketing systems to log, track, and resolve issues.
• Basic scripting ability for performance troubleshooting and automation.
• Network and system troubleshooting, hardware and software diagnostics.
