Lifeguard

About the role

The Lifeguard ensures the safety of patrons at an aquatic facility by monitoring swimming areas, enforcing rules, and responding swiftly to emergencies. This role requires constant vigilance, strong rescue skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor pool and surrounding areas to prevent accidents and ensure patron safety.
• Enforce facility rules, safety policies, and capacity limits.
• Perform water rescues, administer CPR, First Aid, AED, and other emergency care until medical personnel arrive.
• Conduct routine inspections of the pool, deck, rescue equipment, and safety devices.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool decks, lifeguard stations, restrooms, and recreational areas.
• Assist with aquatic programs, swim events, and special functions.
• Provide safety orientations and educate patrons on safe swimming practices.
• Complete incident reports, daily logs, and operational documentation accurately.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Minimum one year of lifeguarding experience in a public, commercial, military, or recreational aquatic facility.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment swim skills assessment.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally if required.

Required skills

• Advanced swimming and water rescue techniques.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED administration.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
