Marine Engineer – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Marine Engineer to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves design, analysis, construction support, maintenance, and repair of marine vessels and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research, testing, and evaluations for vessel design and modification.
• Develop engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, design analyses, and system diagnostic documentation.
• Oversee engineering activities throughout vessel construction, modification, and repair projects.
• Perform quality control inspections, acceptance testing, and support preventative and corrective maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum four years of marine engineering experience.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance.

Required skills

• AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, SOLIDWORKS or similar engineering design software.
• Knowledge of marine automation systems, HMI and PLC control systems.
• Understanding of marine structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering principles.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
