Senior Hospital Information System (HIS) Specialist

About the role

The Senior Hospital Information System (HIS) Specialist will lead the implementation, optimisation and support of the HIS platform at a private international‑standard hospital in Djibouti City. The role bridges clinical operations and technology, ensuring workflows are accurately reflected in the system and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end HIS implementation projects, including planning, stakeholder coordination, testing, training, deployment and post‑implementation support.
• Analyse, document and optimise clinical and business workflows, translating requirements into functional system solutions.
• Configure, optimise and provide advanced functional support for the HIS, focusing on IQVIA solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, quality and availability through reporting, system integrations and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clinicians, hospital management, IT teams and external vendors to deliver integrated healthcare technology solutions.
• Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, user experience and digital transformation.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation and promote best practices in business analysis and change management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, IT, Computer Science, Health Information Management, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Sciences or a related field.
• Professional certifications in Healthcare Information Systems, Business Analysis, Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2), ITIL or Agile methodologies are desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HIS implementation, optimisation and support.
