Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator (OCONUS)

About the role

GovCIO is seeking a senior-level Network and Computer Systems Administrator to support Special Operations communications in an overseas (OCONUS) location. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex WAN/LAN environments while liaising with DOD customers.

Key responsibilities

• Gather product capability information, generate quantifiable requirements, and ensure compliance through formal verification.
• Develop and implement QoS for voice/video/data networks and use performance management tools to troubleshoot and optimize network performance.
• Create conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures, including documentation, testing plans, and risk assessments.
• Provide operational support for WAN/LAN technologies, plan network layouts, and analyze topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements.
• Support hardware and software acquisition and develop detailed logical designs for Gigabit Ethernet switching, routing (EIGRP, BGPv4), QoS, DMVPN, IPv4, and multicast architectures.

Required profile

• High school diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to meet OCONUS medical and deployment standards.
• Current U.S. passport and driver’s license.
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment and be medically fit for deployment.

Required skills

• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
• 3+ years Cisco routing and switching experience (LAN, WAN, network management, security).
• Expert knowledge of EIGRP, BGPv4, QoS, DMVPN, IPv4, multicast, DHCP, DNS.
• Experience designing enterprise‑level networks and performing network integration.
