Shop Foreman – Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

MANTECH is looking for a motivated, career‑oriented Shop Foreman to join its vehicle sustainment team in Djibouti, Africa. The role provides maintenance and logistics support for multiple families of vehicles worldwide under the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, rebuild, and overhaul major assemblies of internal‑combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, and tractors, including engines, transmissions, clutches, and rear ends.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, greasing, hose and belt inspections, part replacements, wheel alignment, brake adjustments, bearing tightening, engine tuning, and minor body work.
• Execute all work following established safety procedures and required certifications, ensuring high quality for both individual and team output.
• Analyze standard problems, apply standard procedures and judgment to resolve issues, and provide guidance to new associates when needed.
• Maintain awareness of key business drivers to effectively accomplish assigned tasks while receiving moderate guidance.

Required profile

• 4+ years of qualified maintenance experience with a BA/BS degree, or 10+ years of maintenance experience without a degree.
• Proven experience in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance, or military operations, covering light/heavy‑duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support, generators, power plants, or similar diesel/gasoline equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver formal, on‑the‑spot training to contractors and unit personnel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and document preparation capability.
• U.S. citizenship, active Secret clearance, valid driver’s license, high school diploma (or GED), and a passport with at least two years of validity.
