Technical Librarian (Facilities)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Technical Librarian (Facilities) to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves managing a centralized technical library that serves facilities and infrastructure operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and catalogue technical documents, including engineering drawings, manuals, and manufacturer data.
• Ensure compliance with library management standards, version control, and Navy documentation requirements.
• Support electronic document management systems (EDMS) and conduct regular audits of technical materials.
• Develop library workflow procedures and train staff and contractors on library usage.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience managing technical libraries or document control in facilities or engineering environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in library science or related field preferred.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining, ability to obtain required visas and security clearances.
• Ability to meet medical, security, and deployment requirements for overseas assignment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with library management software and electronic document management systems (EDMS).
• Knowledge of Navy document control standards and handling of engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to version control and document security.
