Communication Associate

About the role

The Communication Associate will support the UNDP Djibouti Country Office Communications Unit in adapting UNDP’s global communication strategy to the local context. The role involves producing high‑quality communication materials, leveraging targeted channels, and promoting the visibility of UNDP’s development results and Sustainable Development Goals in Djibouti.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and produce communication products such as stories, factsheets, videos, and newsletters.
• Manage and update social media platforms and the country office website.
• Support media relations, including press releases, briefings and monitoring coverage.
• Assist in organizing events, workshops and outreach activities.
• Ensure all communications align with UNDP’s branding, messaging and the country’s development priorities.

Required profile

• University degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Experience in development or international organization communications.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Arabic is an asset.
