Field Security Associate

About the role

The Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) seeks a Field Security Associate to support security operations for United Nations personnel in Djibouti. Reporting to the Security Coordination Officer, you will help collect and communicate security information and liaise with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Security Coordination Officer in collecting, updating and communicating information regarding the security situation in the Area of Responsibility.
• Liaise and coordinate with host government security organisations, national and local authorities, military, police and NGOs.
• Assess the security situation at the duty station and ensure adequate gathering and verification of security information.
• Communicate security issues to heads of United Nations agencies and provide host‑country security advice to UNDSS as required.
• Maintain regular contacts with Security Focal Points of UN agencies.
