Fire Suppression Technician – NICET III

About the role

KBR is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician (NICET III) to support the operational safety of Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role involves servicing, inspecting, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure continuous protection for U.S. armed forces and base personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Service, inspect, and test fire alarm and related systems to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform on‑site emergency troubleshooting, programming, and repairs of fire alarm systems.
• Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings to install and maintain system components.
• Diagnose failures, evaluate condition of components, and execute preventative maintenance.
• Install fire alarm panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, and other components.
• Maintain possession of fire alarm keys, radio, and telephone at all times and participate in rotational call‑out service.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in the fire protection life‑safety industry.
• NICET Level III certification in fire alarm systems (or equivalent local certification accepted by the AHJ).
• Proven experience with fire alarm installation and programming.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with fire alarm panels such as Simplex 4100E, FIRELITE, Monaco BT‑X, Gamewell E3, Honeywell, Det‑tronics Quantum, Secutron, and AutoPulse.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards applicable to fire alarm systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for fire alarm equipment.
