M&E and Research Field Manager – Djibouti

About the role

STOOS Consulting is seeking a qualified Field Manager to lead monitoring, evaluation and research activities in Djibouti. The role involves coordinating field teams, supervising data collection and ensuring high‑quality, ethical research across humanitarian and development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise field data collection activities such as surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, site visits, observations and community consultations.
• Prepare fieldwork plans, daily schedules, logistics arrangements and access coordination with local authorities and stakeholders.
• Supervise enumerators and field researchers, provide daily guidance and ensure proper use of data collection tools.
• Support respondent identification and liaise with community leaders, NGOs, service providers and other partners.
• Review submitted data and field notes for accuracy, completeness, consistency and reliability.
• Report daily progress, challenges, access issues and data‑quality concerns to the technical team.
• Ensure all field activities adhere to informed consent, confidentiality, safeguarding, conflict‑sensitivity and Do No Harm principles.

Required profile

• Previous experience in field management, data‑collection supervision, research coordination, monitoring and evaluation or third‑party monitoring in Djibouti.
• Strong knowledge of Djibouti’s urban and rural contexts, community engagement, local authorities, migration and refugee dynamics, cross‑border issues and humanitarian/development coordination.
• Ability to work with diverse groups including host communities, migrants, refugees, returnees, women, youth and vulnerable populations.
