Fire Suppression Technician – NICET III

About the role

KBR is seeking a qualified Fire Suppression Technician (NICET III) to support operations at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti, Africa. The role involves servicing, inspecting, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure the safety of personnel and mission continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Service, inspect, and test fire alarm and related systems to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform on‑site emergency troubleshooting, programming, and repairs of fire alarm systems.
• Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings for fire alarm and related electrical systems.
• Diagnose failures, evaluate condition of components, and conduct preventative maintenance.
• Install fire alarm components such as panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, and detectors.
• Maintain possession of all fire alarm keys, radio, and telephone while on base and participate in rotational call‑out service.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in fire protection life‑safety, specifically fire alarm installation and programming.
• NICET Level III certification in fire alarm systems (or equivalent local certification accepted by the AHJ).
• Knowledge of NFPA standards applicable to fire alarm systems.

Required skills

• Experience with fire alarm panels: Simplex 4100E, FIRELITE, Monaco BT‑X, Gamewell E3, Honeywell, Det‑tronics Quantum, Secutron, AutoPulse.
• Fire alarm system installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Blueprint and schematic interpretation.
• Preventative maintenance and component repair.
