Head of Retail Banking

About the role

The bank is seeking a senior executive to lead its Retail Banking division in Djibouti. The role combines strategic leadership, profit‑and‑loss responsibility, and oversight of product, distribution and risk functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the retail banking strategy, driving growth, profitability and revenue targets.
• Lead deposit acquisition, personal lending and other consumer banking products while managing pricing, margins and portfolio quality.
• Design competitive retail products and pricing based on market trends and customer needs.
• Optimize branch and digital channel performance, sales productivity and customer experience.
• Lead the Retail Banking team, set commercial KPIs and ensure compliance with credit, KYC/AML, consumer protection and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Significant senior‑level experience in retail banking within a commercial or universal bank.
• Proven track record of business growth, P&L management, portfolio expansion and pricing strategy.
• Experience across retail products, branch/distribution management and digital channels.
• Fluent French with strong professional proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities, preferably with experience in Djibouti, Africa or Francophone markets.
