Asset Protection / Safety Manager (Navy Exchange)

About the role

The Asset Protection / Safety Manager is responsible for leading the Loss Prevention and Safety Program at an assigned Navy Exchange. This role ensures a secure environment for employees and patrons while protecting assets and maintaining compliance with Navy safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate loss‑prevention programs covering safety, physical security, and operational reviews.
• Conduct internal and external investigations of theft, fraud, workplace violence, accidents, and unethical conduct.
• Oversee overnight surveillance, covert camera installations, and investigations of dishonest associates, vendors, and contractors.
• Administer the Navy Occupational Safety and Health and Fire Prevention Program, including training, safety committees, and accident‑prevention initiatives.
• Hire, train, mentor, and supervise loss‑prevention and safety staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Perform monthly operational reviews and audits of cash offices, vending, and safety areas, working with the General Manager to address deficiencies.
• Manage physical‑security systems such as CCTV, EAS, alarms, and key‑control, ensuring strict enforcement.
• Participate in fiscal‑year‑end inventories and report irregularities to district leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in loss prevention, asset protection, or safety management, preferably in a retail or military environment.
• Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to produce professional reports.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and team‑development capabilities.
• Knowledge of Navy safety codes and occupational health regulations.
