Operations Officer - Logistics & Warehouse

About the role

The Operations Officer will coordinate daily warehouse and logistics activities in Djibouti, ensuring smooth receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maintaining compliance with company standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage warehouse operations, including accurate receipt, storage and dispatch of goods.
• Maintain inventory records, perform regular reconciliations and monitor stock levels.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transport providers and customs clearing agents.
• Track import and export shipments, providing status updates to management.
• Prepare and submit export documentation, customs declarations and other official paperwork.
• Plan and supervise loading and off‑loading operations.
• Monitor demurrage, detention and storage timelines to control logistics costs.
• Produce regular operational reports such as inventory, truck dispatch and shipment tracking.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, shipping or import/export operations.
• Experience with customs clearance, inventory management and shipping documentation is preferred.
• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent in Somali, French and English; Arabic or Amharic are a plus.
