ROWPU Supervisor for Water Purification Operations

About the role

KBR is seeking a ROWPU Supervisor to lead reverse osmosis water purification, treatment, and distribution at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role supports safe, compliant water services for U.S. armed forces.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise 24/7 ROWPU, raw‑water, treatment, storage and distribution operations.
• Assist the ORC as alternate responsible operator and advise management on operational issues, impacts and risks.
• Lead staffing, work processes, equipment operation, maintenance coordination and cost‑effective service execution.
• Oversee water sampling, testing, chain of custody, laboratory quality controls, logs and required reporting.
• Maintain SOPs, emergency procedures, chemical and spare inventories, and ensure compliance with all relevant Navy and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Current Navy Class 2 Water Treatment Operator certification (or equivalent).
• Current Navy Class 1 Water Distribution Operator certification (or equivalent).
• Minimum 8 years of water treatment/ROWPU experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Laboratory management experience for drinking‑water compliance.
• U.S. citizenship not required; must meet CAC, background, training and IT/OT access requirements.

Required skills

• Reverse‑osmosis water purification systems.
• SCADA and PLC instrumentation.
• Membrane systems and chemical feed management.
• NAVFAC Maximo or similar maintenance system.
• Knowledge of OPNAVINST 5090.1, CNIC M‑5090.1, NSF/ANSI 60/61 and approved drinking‑water methods.
