Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation services and applications, leveraging Copernicus data to address climate, environmental and development priorities across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Observation services and applications in sectors such as early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management and biodiversity.
• Utilise Copernicus data and products to create actionable solutions for African institutions and stakeholders.
• Support policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and capacity building between African and European partners.
• Facilitate private‑sector engagement and promote investment in EO solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to local teams and users.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services using Copernicus data.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.
• Experience working with African institutions and promoting user uptake is a plus.
