Air Cargo Handler – In/Out Operations

About the role

KBR is seeking an Air Cargo Handler to support 24/7 air terminal operations at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti. The role ensures safe and efficient movement of cargo to and from military and commercial aircraft, adhering to contract requirements and mission priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo from aircraft using K‑loaders, forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Build, break down, and palletize cargo on 463L pallets according to load plans and safety standards.
• Process cargo through automated systems such as GATES and verify manifests for overages, shortages or damage.
• Execute special handling procedures for hazardous materials, sensitive or high‑value items.
• Ensure proper cargo restraint, tie‑down, and aircraft compatibility.
• Support ground operations, position equipment, and coordinate with aircrew.
• Maintain accountability of cargo, equipment and documentation.
• Perform load team and load team chief duties, joint inspections, and other air cargo tasks as required.
• Adhere to safety, FOD prevention, and airfield driving procedures while working night, weekend and holiday shifts.

Required profile

• Experience loading/unloading aircraft and operating material handling equipment (e.g., 10K forklifts, 25K loaders).
• Ability to obtain and maintain hazmat inspector, load team chief, joint inspector certifications, and flight line driving privileges.
• Physically capable of lifting 70 lb+ and working outdoors in various conditions.
• Fluent English and possession of a passport book.
