BCS Watchstander / DDC Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a BCS Watchstander / DDC Technician to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves continuous operation and maintenance of the Building Control System (BCS) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) to ensure safe, efficient monitoring and control of commodity production and service demand 24/7.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain BCS and DDC systems, monitoring HVAC, lighting, utilities, and production processes.
• Provide uninterrupted 24/7 watchstander coverage, responding to alarms, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct routine checks, diagnostics, inspections, maintenance, repairs, and calibration of equipment.
• Maintain detailed logs, records, and reports of system activities, incidents, and resolutions.
• Support preventative maintenance, integration of new systems, and energy‑efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years experience operating, maintaining, and repairing BCS or DDC systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid passport with at least one year remaining.
• Ability to work 24/7 shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and access confined spaces; lift up to 25 lb regularly.
• Eligibility to obtain required visas, security clearances, and facility credentials.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Building Control Systems (BCS) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
• Knowledge of HVAC, BAS, utilities monitoring, and automation.
• Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and networking concepts related to BCS/DDC.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities for control‑system equipment.
• Proficiency in documenting system logs, reports, and service records.
