Head of Corporate Banking

About the role

Lead the Corporate Banking division of a Djibouti‑based bank, responsible for strategy, P&L and growth across corporate lending, deposits, cash management and trade finance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corporate banking strategy and business plan with full accountability for revenue, profitability, portfolio growth, customer acquisition and commercial targets.
• Build and expand relationships with large corporates, institutions and key business groups, driving growth across corporate lending, deposits, cash management, trade finance and other banking solutions.
• Acquire new‑to‑bank corporate clients and deepen existing relationships through structured coverage, cross‑selling and tailored financial solutions.
• Oversee credit assessment, structuring, pricing, risk‑return discipline, concentration management and early identification of deteriorating exposures to ensure portfolio quality.
• Lead the corporate banking team and collaborate with Credit, Risk, Treasury, Trade Finance, Compliance and Operations to deliver high‑quality solutions across Djibouti and regional/international markets.

Required profile

• Significant senior‑level corporate banking experience within a commercial or universal bank, with proven responsibility for portfolio growth and major client relationships.
• Strong track record in corporate lending, deposits, trade finance, cash management, credit structuring and relationship management, demonstrating revenue and profitability growth.
• Deep understanding of corporate credit analysis, risk‑return pricing, portfolio quality, NPL management and regulatory requirements.
• Fluent French (essential) with professional proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities; experience in Djibouti, Africa or Francophone banking markets is a strong advantage.
