Head of Sub‑Office, Ali Sabieh (G6)

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a senior professional to lead its Sub‑Office in Ali Sabieh, Djibouti. The Head of Sub‑Office will report to the Head of Programme and will be responsible for managing the sub‑office’s operations during a fixed‑term, one‑year assignment. This position contributes directly to WFP’s mission of achieving Zero Hunger and supports the strategic alignment with Djibouti Vision 2035, the African Union Agenda 2063, and regional development plans.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of WFP programmes in the Ali Sabieh region.
• Coordinate activities with the Head of Programme and other WFP units.
• Ensure compliance with WFP policies, standards and the strategic framework aligned with national and regional agendas.
• Monitor programme performance and prepare regular reports for senior management.
• Represent WFP with local authorities, partners and stakeholders to foster collaboration.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in humanitarian or development programmes.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and uphold WFP values of integrity, collaboration, commitment, humanity and inclusion.
