Head of Treasury

About the role

The Head of Treasury will define and execute the bank’s overall treasury strategy, aligning liquidity, funding, capital deployment and interest‑rate exposure with business objectives and the approved risk appetite. The role requires close collaboration with senior management and governance committees to ensure the treasury function supports the bank’s growth while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of treasury policies, liquidity buffers and funding strategies.
• Manage short‑ and long‑term liquidity, cash‑flow forecasting and asset‑liability management (ALM).
• Oversee money‑market, foreign‑exchange, investment and interbank activities, optimizing returns on surplus liquidity.
• Monitor liquidity, interest‑rate, FX and market risks, providing timely reporting to the ALCO and senior management.
• Lead, coach and develop the treasury team while maintaining strong relationships with correspondent banks, regulators and market counterparties.

Required profile

• Significant senior‑level treasury experience in commercial banking or a regulated financial institution.
• Proven ability to work with ALCO, senior management and governance committees.
• Fluent French with professional proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Strong leadership background; experience in Djibouti, Africa or Francophone banking markets is a plus.
