Joint Expeditionary Team Member – PTOC (Part‑Time On‑Call)

About the role

The Joint Expeditionary Team (JET) Member – PTOC provides on‑call, part‑time expertise to USAFRICOM J34 Force Protection and Mission Assurance. The role supports pre‑deployment analysis, embedded operational advice and continuous mission assurance across the AFRICOM area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy as needed to enhance situational awareness, identify capability gaps and integrate material/non‑material solutions.
• Provide C‑IT, C‑WMD and C‑UXS analysis, training, countermeasure integration and TTP best practices before, during and after deployments.
• Support planning using MDMP and JOPP, offering SME advice on antiterrorism, critical infrastructure, CBRNE and unmanned systems.
• Embed with USAFRICOM J34 and Service Component personnel to deliver analysis and recommendations in deployed environments.
• Develop concepts, plans, annexes and procedures to ensure protection requirements are implemented.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in military operations, defense technology or related fields.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and a valid U.S. passport with at least two years before expiration.

Required skills

• Expertise in Counter‑Improvised Threat (C‑IT), Counter‑Weapons of Mass Destruction (C‑WMD) and Counter‑Unmanned Systems (C‑UXS).
• Familiarity with MDMP, JOPP and joint operational planning processes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and data‑visualization abilities.
• Experience with emerging defense technologies and exercise development.
