Port Control Tower Watch

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Port Control Tower Watch to support a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures safe, efficient, and orderly harbor operations by coordinating vessel movements and maintaining navigable waterways.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate safe movement of vessels, assign docking berths and mooring spaces, and monitor harbor traffic.
• Operate marine communication systems, maintain continuous communication with vessel operators, and record all vessel arrivals, departures, and movements.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on harbor activities and supervise inspection of navigational aids.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least four years of experience in law enforcement, marine operations, or related fields.
• Valid passport (minimum one year validity) and ability to obtain required visas, security clearances, and facility credentials.
• Physical ability to perform outdoor duties in austere conditions, including extended hours, weekends, and emergencies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with radio communications and marine communication equipment.
• Working knowledge of nautical terminology, navigation principles, and maritime calculations.
