Warehouseman (Hazardous Materials)

About the role

KBR is seeking a Warehouseman to support hazardous material handling at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role involves managing receipt, storage, inventory, and disposal of hazardous items in compliance with CHRIMP and NAVSUP guidelines. The candidate will work directly with military and civilian customers.

Key responsibilities

• Verify receipt of hazardous material and ensure proper documentation.
• Handle, store, and segregate hazardous material according to safety regulations.
• Manage inventory, track utilization rates, and monitor shelf‑life and expiration dates.
• Conduct Safety Data Sheet reviews for newly acquired items.
• Assist customers in establishing authorized use lists (AUL) for hazardous material.
• Perform locker assessments in accordance with NAVSUP P‑722.
• Recommend and troubleshoot warehouse process issues, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Coordinate with transportation and other logistics functions to provide timely support.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with hazardous material handling, storage, and packaging.
• Ability to work with both military and civilian customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Physical ability to lift at least 50 lb.
• Valid driver’s license with minimum six months remaining validity.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• MS Office Suite.
• Forklift operation (up to 10 k lb capacity).
• HAZMAT certification (AFMAN 24‑204/24‑604) preferred.
• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) review.
• Use of government logistics systems (access provided).
