Transport Expert – Global Gateway Project

About the role

NTU International A/S is building a talent pool of transport experts to support the Global Gateway Transport and Urban Facility 2 project. The role involves providing short‑term technical assistance on transport and mobility programmes worldwide, with a focus on Sub‑Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia‑Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prepare, appraise and implement transport and connectivity projects.
• Conduct prefeasibility and feasibility studies, technical assessments, economic and financial analyses, and sector studies.
• Support transport infrastructure planning, design, rehabilitation, modernisation and investment planning.
• Assist public authorities in developing policies, strategies, regulatory frameworks and sector reform programmes.
• Prepare transport investment pipelines aligned with Global Gateway and European Green Deal priorities.
• Advise on sustainable, low‑carbon, smart, safe, resilient and inclusive transport solutions.
• Promote multimodal transport, logistics connectivity and integration between different modes.
• Assess investment climates, identify PPP opportunities and support public‑private participation.
• Assist with procurement, tendering, contract management, implementation supervision and operation‑maintenance planning.
• Facilitate the application of European and international transport standards and best practices.
• Contribute to institutional strengthening, knowledge creation, training and capacity‑building activities.
• Coordinate between public authorities, EU delegations, IFIs, infrastructure operators, private sector stakeholders and development partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in transport, infrastructure, mobility, logistics, connectivity or related sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: road and highway infrastructure, rail, maritime, air transport, urban mobility, logistics or transport finance.
• Experience working with international donors, development agencies or public‑private partnerships is preferred.
