Facility Operations Specialist – Mail Services

About the role

KBR is seeking a Facility Operations Specialist to manage the collection, sorting, scanning, and delivery of mail and packages at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role ensures the secure handling of all inbound and outbound mail, supporting the operational well‑being of U.S. armed forces deployed on the base.

Key responsibilities

• Operate X‑ray equipment to screen mailbags, parcels, and suspicious items for prohibited materials.
• Open, sort, and distribute mail by authorized APOs or assigned units, and redirect mis‑sent items.
• Process prograde and retrograde mail, prepare and verify incoming and outgoing mail manifests.
• Manage postal supplies, inventory, ordering, and receiving for the assigned facility.
• Secure mail trucks overnight, record seal numbers, and maintain a daily dispatch log of volume and weight.
• Provide customer service to authorized patrons, explaining available postal services.
• Operate the RSS (Retail System Software) for mail handling and dispatch procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to handle and secure mail in a high‑security environment.
• Attention to detail for manifest preparation and seal verification.
• Willingness to follow Standard Pouching and Routing Instructions (SPRINT) and CAMALS charts.
