Materials Specialist – Ordnance

About the role

KBR is seeking a Materials Specialist – Ordnance to support operations at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role focuses on production control, inventory management, and the safe handling of ordnance materials to ensure mission readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Administer production control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving of ordnance materials.
• Inspect parts and materials for damage, verify quantities, part numbers, and serial numbers.
• Record and prepare status reports for requested and received items.
• Analyze solutions using standard procedures and develop advanced skills under general supervision.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• 3‑5 years of experience in ordnance or ammunition roles within Navy, Marine, Army, or Air Force environments.
• 5+ years of overall relevant experience or equivalent education.
• Prior experience supporting Navy BOS/Facility Support contracts in austere or remote settings is desired.
• Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure environments with frequent interruptions.

Required skills

• OPNAV/NAVSEA certification
• Explosive handling license (or ability to obtain)
