Associate Specialist, Quality Assurance - JOC

About the role

KBR is seeking an Associate Specialist, Quality Assurance for its JOC unit, which delivers construction services to the US Military and coalition partners at Djibouti's Camp Lemonier Naval Base. The specialist provides technical expertise for the Quality program, including inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits and quality tools for problem solving and assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Create inspection reports stating the condition of a work area so that requirements are met, and make recommendations for corrective action.
• Apply knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution.
• Conduct daily site inspections to verify adherence to project quality standards and safety regulations.
• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining quality control plans and procedures.
• Document non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with construction teams.
• Support the review of construction documentation, including drawings, specifications and test reports.
• Participate in quality meetings and communicate quality issues effectively.
• Assist in training site personnel on quality standards and best practices.
• Support the preparation of quality reports and documentation for project audits and reviews.
• Ensure compliance with KBR's quality policies and client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in construction quality assurance or control.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, OSHA, EM385 and client-specific quality protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent communication skills and teamwork.
• Valid passport book with at least 12 months of remaining validity and at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages, and a driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of Quality Management.
• Preferred: certification in Quality Management (e.g. CQM, CQE, ISO Auditor).
