General SCADA Technician

About the role

KBR is seeking a General SCADA Technician to operate and maintain building automation and power monitoring systems at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role supports critical power generation, load sharing, water treatment, and HVAC processes for a large government installation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain SCADA systems for power generation, load sharing, and water treatment.
• Operate and maintain BAS systems for HVAC, mechanical, and electrical equipment in large commercial/government buildings.
• Install, configure, and calibrate SCADA/BAS hardware and software, including servers, workstations, PLCs, sensors, and actuators.
• Troubleshoot system faults, alarms, and communication issues across Ethernet and fiber networks.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in line with compliance frameworks.
• Conduct quarterly inspections, generate health and performance reports, and maintain documentation, SOPs, and training records.
• Manage cybersecurity protocols, apply patches, and control system access.
• Respond to emergency callouts and support disaster‑recovery procedures.

Required profile

• Technical degree or equivalent certification.
• OEM certifications on SCADA/BAS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Allen‑Bradley).
• OSHA safety training and cybersecurity awareness for industrial systems.
• 5 years of operations and maintenance experience with building computer‑controlled systems; at least 2 years on Siemens or Honeywell BAS and 3 years on large commercial or government buildings.
• Fluent English and a passport with at least 12 months validity and six blank visa pages.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency callouts.
