Virtual Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

CACI is seeking an experienced Virtual Infrastructure Engineer to support AFRICOM missions across the Horn of Africa. The role involves designing, operating, and maintaining a geographically dispersed data‑center virtual environment while providing training and technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document, build, integrate, implement and test virtual infrastructure solutions.
• Perform ongoing operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the virtual environment.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to transition systems to IT Operations Management.
• Analyze hardware/software lifecycle requirements and recommend standardization across the enterprise.
• Evaluate best‑practice solutions for data‑center and virtual infrastructure technologies.
• Deliver remote and on‑site technical support in Djibouti and other Horn of Africa locations.

Required profile

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
• Minimum 7 years of specialized experience in enterprise data‑center technologies.
• Relevant certifications such as VCP‑DCV, VCP‑VCF and CompTIA Security+.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

• Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, UCS Manager, Fabric Interconnects.
• NetApp storage, SAN configurations, SnapMirror.
• Private cloud virtualization and virtual networking.
• PowerShell scripting.
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation.
• Cisco Data Center certifications (CCNA, CCNP or higher) and NetApp certification.
