Virtual Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

CACI is hiring a Virtual Infrastructure Systems Engineer in Djibouti to support AFRICOM mission objectives. The engineer designs, operates and maintains data-center virtual infrastructure across a geographically dispersed enterprise network, working remotely and on site up to 10% of the time. The position is full time, regular long-term assignment, and requires a Secret clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document, build, integrate, implement and test virtual infrastructure solutions
• Perform ongoing operations and maintenance of the virtual infrastructure environment
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to support the transition of systems to IT Operations Management
• Analyze hardware and software lifecycle requirements and recommend standardization approaches
• Evaluate and recommend best-practice solutions for data-center and virtual infrastructure technologies
• Provide remote technical support and on-site support in Djibouti and other locations in the Horn of Africa

Required profile

• Must be a current US citizen; non-US citizens cannot be considered
• Adjudicated US Secret clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
• Relevant major certification and 7 years of recent specialized experience
• Ability to interface with customers, project managers, clients and stakeholders, and to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Required skills

• VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) and/or VCP-VCF, and CompTIA Security+
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, NetApp storage and SAN, VMware vSphere/ESXi, and private cloud virtualization and virtual networking
• Knowledge of lifecycle management for Cisco, VMware and NetApp hardware and software
• Desired: VMware Cloud Foundation in a Cisco FlexPod environment, ITIL v3/v4, CCNA/CCNP, NetApp certification, PowerShell scripting, and understanding of DoD standards and IT security requirements
