Fire Inspector (Camp Lemonnier)

About the role

The Fire Inspector will support fire prevention and life‑safety programs at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. Working on‑site, you will conduct inspections, deliver public education, and assist firefighting operations to ensure compliance with DOD, US Navy, NFPA and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver fire‑safety education and training, including evacuation drills and public presentations.
• Perform on‑the‑spot training, corrections, and follow‑up inspections.
• Document all fire‑prevention activities and manage related administrative duties.
• Maintain personal appearance, physical fitness and grooming standards.
• Fill in as a firefighter when required and perform other assigned duties.
• Obtain and maintain Emergency Medical Responder and CPR certifications.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard certifications: Fire Fighter I & II, Airport Firefighter, HazMat Awareness & Operations, Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Instructor I.
• At least two years experience as a Fire Inspector and two years as a Firefighter.
• Excellent English reading, writing and speaking skills.
